London day 2
Well, I am writing this as I sit in Monterosso, Italy, as we have had a lack of wifi today. Our second day in London was quick, but wonderful! As noted, our hotel room was probably the fanciest one we will ever stay in. The shower itself was the most incredible thing, as their were a half dozen settings basically making the ceiling rain. The was also a full marble tub, heated towel bars, automatic curtains, sinks, lights-- you name it.
We started off with a little walking tour across Green Park To Buckingham Palace. In true London form, it was raining. We eventually made it to the choir Mass at Westminster Cathedral, which was absolutely delightful! I don't think mom or Andrew appreciated it nearly as much as I, but the choir was a fantastic example of British polyphonic choirs at their best. The group was about 16 men and boys, with their signature straight, bright ringing sound. Works included those of Hassler, Widor, and others; as well as a lot of chant. It was high music at its finest, and a real artistic treat!! We spent the rest of the time on a city tour, for which our tour guide was basically Hagrid--which was perfect! It was a solid tour, but it made us all wish we had more time to see the city...and really the entire country.
Naturally, I made sure I found some fish and chips before we left for Pisa via the final leg of our plane journey.
Overall, a fun day. However, now we all want to actually spend some time there... Future trip!

London!
Arrived safely in London, and are staying at the beautiful May Fair Hotel downtown. We managed to get a free suite upgrade, and it has to be the nicest room I have ever stayed in! It is incredible and just huge! Even with the picture, you can't see a large portion of it all!
Flight was easy, although our internal clocks are all messed up. Sung Mass tomorrow at Westminster Cathedral and then sightseeing! Hopefully more updates tomorrow!

First shot at this
Hello! This is just a little test as I am about to leave for the airport. My goal is to update this each day along my trip from the ipad. I am completely new to blogspot, so hang with me as I try to figure this out and hopefully not have it look too terrible!
We are leaving in about 45 minutes for the Kalamazoo airport, fly to O'Hare and then to Heathrow. We will spend Sunday in London seeing mass at Westminster Cathedral, taking a double decker bus tour, and then flying to Pisa (Using the old 24 hour layover rule)...
Hopefully many pictures to come, assuming I can get it all to work. Next update should be in London!
